Courage

Courage

I read about courage today and I decided to share some thoughts with my daughter.  In the process I looked at my own life and the word courage.

First, I wanted to define courage, according to Merriam-Webster dictionary means: “mental or moral strength to venture, persevere, and withstand danger, fear, or difficulty.”  Wow, mental or moral strength is what is necessary to do everything in life.

My synopsis of Courage.

Courage is small steps to a new beginning.  Courage is being strong enough to stand for what is right.

Courage is sharing with your friends and family all the Lord has done for you.

Courage is giving God all that HE desires from us: time in prayer, listening to his kind direction and to serve others.

Courage is being able to show love to all.

Real Courage is asking GOD to be your strength when you have none.

To me Courage is really small steps every day.  It made me think is my life filled with courage?  I always thought of courage as going sky diving or climbing a mountain as examples.  I needed the reminder that courage is getting up and putting one foot in front of the other when you think you can’t. I can be courageous everyday and so can you.

If you are struggling with mental or moral strength to withstand difficulty know you are not alone.  God is here to give you strength all you have to do is ask. Claim these verses this week as you face any struggle.

1 Chronicles 16:11 “Look to the LORD and his strength; seek his face always.”

Isaiah 40:29 “He gives strength to the weary and increases the power of the weak.”

May the Lord Bless you
